Start preparing for your POETRY VIDEO PROJECT, which we will put together on March 1st.  Choose a poem and a video interpretation, and start gathering your clips (URLS and files).  Divide up the stanzas between your partners, and start practising the reading.  Decide on key word emphasis, pauses, expressions, and pacing.

Today we continued reading, discussing, and analysing poems. We covered:

John Agard’s “Listen, Mr. Oxford Don”

Seamus Heaney’s “Scaffolding”


As we did this, we reviewed the key literary devices you will need to know for the provincial examination.  Note that there is a glossary at the back of your text to help you with definitions and examples.
